TalkWebSolutions have finished their website for the BBC.  This site can be found at www.projectcanvas.info

We developed our CMS Platform so that it would disseminate their content to the social web-sphere with little effort from the administration team. The site uses our CMS system so that they can quickly and easily update content on the site. What is unique is that with one click the information they add can get pushed out to many social media websites such as Twitter, Delicious, Linkedin and Facebook. We also made an aggregated reader via Goggle reader which pulls in content from several sites, if the news from these feeds in relevant all the BBC team have to do is promote the store and it's pushed onto the website. The removes the requirement to scour several websites find the news as well as the need to re purpose the content.

We also created a secure access portal for their partners to share content online as well as managing the hosting of this site.

The BBC have commissioned TalkWebSolutions to create an information website for their new project, known as Project Canvas.

Project Canvas is a proposed partnership between the BBC, ITV, C4Five, BT and Talk Talk to build an open internet-connected TV platform, subject to BBC Trust approval.

The partners intend to form a venture to promote the platform to consumers and the content, service and developer community.

Like the UK's current free-to-air brands Freeview and Freesat - a consumer brand (not canvas) will be created, and licensed to device manufacturers, and internet service providers owners who meet the specifications.

This site will be a CMS platform that would disseminate content to the social web-sphere with little effort from the admin team.

TalkWebSolutions has taken a green IT maturity test through Accenture Green Maturity Assessment and scored four out of five.

Through this we were informed that our organization has progressed to a mature Green IT level. This is because most, if not all, projects include assessments around environmental impact and senior staff are incentivized to improve the efficiency of the organization.

There is still more that we can do however to reach five out of five.  This includes automating monitoring and reporting, collecting performance data from systems and using advanced analytics to understand where additional performance can be achieved.

TalkWebSolutions is committed to achieving this and creating a greener world for all of us.

Collections Trust and Brighton-based online consultancy TalkWebSolutions have announced a new partnership to re-launch the award-winning Collections Link service for museum, archive and library professionals.

Launched in 2006, Collections Link has become the leading source of Collections Management information. Following extensive consultation with the UK and international Collections Management community, the service is being redeveloped to provide a platform for practitioners to connect, share their knowledge and learn from the experiences of their peers.

Nick Poole, Collections Trust Chief Executive, commented:

“We are hugely excited about this next phase in the evolution of Collections Link. Collections Management is a global community, and it has never been more important to demonstrate that we can work together both to achieve greater value for the public and to deliver more efficient management. To achieve our vision for Collections Management, we need a partner at the frontline of social media, and TalkWebSolutions is the perfect choice.”

Nick Tong, TalkWebSolutions CTO commented:

'Collections Trust is a forward- thinking organisation, and we are very excited to be working with them and developing a system to match their vision.  We are developing cutting edge features which will not only make their site stand out, but also stay current for longer, allowing important information to be disseminated to users easily and more efficiently.'

The new Collections Link site will go live in Spring 2010 with a host of new services including tools to help practitioners connect with expert groups and networks; a subscribers’ area to help users find all the Collections Management advice and information they need; and an enhanced database of training and professional development opportunities. If you would like to help ensure that Collections Link meets the needs of the Collections Management community, you can volunteer to test the site as it evolves.

TalkWebSolutions has created a very effective members area for buyers and sellers to find out a bit more about each other and build up their profiles.  Every time a seller is registered, member buyers that have signaled an interest in that location are notified and invited to request additional information.
